Information:

Om Kalthoum (1904 - 1975) was an iconic Egyptian singer, songwriter, and actress, revered as one of the greatest and most influential Arab singers of the 20th century. Born in the early 1900s in Tamay ez-Zahayra village, El Senbellawein, she rose from humble beginnings to become the "Star of the Orient" (Kawkab el-Sharq). Her powerful voice and emotional depth in performance connected deeply with audiences, transcending cultural and national boundaries. Om Kalthoum's repertoire consisted of a variety of styles, from traditional Egyptian music to songs that incorporated Western instruments and orchestration. Her monthly concerts, broadcast live from Cairo, were eagerly anticipated events, attracting millions of listeners from across the Arab world. Om Kalthoum's legacy endures, with her music still widely listened to and revered for its expressiveness, rich poetry, and the masterful command of Arabic language and music.
