I am interested in completing the 1895-1915 1 rouble collection. If you are familiar, you know I will have to drop some Moderately high $ on completing this. So I need to know what this mark is on this coin, and if it adds to, or detracts from value. I was told it signifies the overthrow/Death of the Romanovs from 1917.

Thanks!!

(If I complete the 1 rouble, I will go to the Gold 5 rouble set) (I have 0 gold right now)

I have never seen 1 rouble coin with overstamp and that's a common coin here in finland so I think that stamp is made by a private business or something
The stamp is dated 1917 and I can read Romanov on the left side of the legend. Perhaps it has something to do with the October revolution.

All coin shops here in Helsinki have roubles so I can swap Russian coins to American coins if you want send me a PM if you are interested. Swedish coins are also common here if you are interested in them too.
These coins are Replicas in real silver. I guess it could be worse, they could be nickel. However they are worth only silver content.

The seller just told me "I am sorry, they are not real. They are not real silver. They are only silver plated copper-nickel, I am sorry to deceive you"

So needless to say, I will not be buying cheap repros. I have decided to just make a set out of what I have, and get 4 more pieces to add to.

It seems real to me 8.
After the revolution there was a need for gold and silver coins, but the only coins available at that time where Nikolai II coins. So, to emphasize that tsar has abdicated and is not longer an authority they put a stamp on some of those coins. This stamp says: "Низложение дома Романовых. Мартъ 1917". It means something like "Deposition of the House of Romanov. March 1917"

Another example can be found on this Russian page:  szhaman.com/zolotoj-chervonec/
Seller informed me they are silver plated lead. Faux coins.

There Nikolaev rubles and poltinas with "greetings from the Soviet authorities": "The execution of the tyrant," "The deposition of the Romanov dynasty. Mart 1917". Such instances are described in the catalog Kazakova. Over hammers made with knee and handicraft.

Randolph Zander writes: - "In the early 30-ies of rubles and poltinas Nicholas II,
began to appear with a rough octagonal stamp on the front
side with the words: The deposition of the Romanov dynasty. stigma usually
deeply coined that spoils coin. Ruble against the counter stamp comes
more often than poltina. They were made in private. some
dealers contributed to the fact that these coins gained some
popularity among gullible collectors ... "
