1/2 Afghani edge question

7 posts
Hello,
I have I guess this coin, but mine have a very strange edge, the catalog says should be smooth, but as we can see on my badly taken photos, the edge is anything but smooth.

It looks like roughly metal squeezed inside the coin.

Any other member have this coin and could check the edge? Or any explanation of what kind of edge it is?

Thank you dear collectors.

My coin definitely has a smooth edge, it's not perfectly smooth because it's a circulated coin but I'm sure it was.
best regards
I'm not orange and also in other things I'm not a Donald at all. DonChori like Don Felipe or Doña María, por favor.
It looks like your coin is a cast metal fake.
Fakes this good of such a relatively common coin ?
Other than the edge is there anything that could give it away ? It looks good. How is the weight ?
This isnt a fake... Just a
coin is made of iron coated
with nickel, on the edge
this layer has worn and rust begin to eat into  coin,
that's all. It happens with
many iron/steel coins coated with nickel, c'est la vie)  On my coin
edge smooth,but on one
side very little
corroded too. So need keep it in most dry place
I do not have a scale yet, but I guess the Lovecoin explanation is reasonable.

Thank you for all your answers, you are all some kind of experts.

I tried a better picture, but the phone cam doesn't help much.

Ah... I didn't actually look the coin up and thought that it was supposed to be made out of silver. z)

Yes, nickel-clad iron coins are often found in ugly, rusted condition. I have a few very bad-looking coins like that from Argentina.
