10,000 coins!

Numista's catalog has just reached the step of
10,000 coins. A number I didn't even dream of at the beginning of the site!
The catalog is more and more complete and most current coins are now registered.
Thanks to all who have participated to this great success. And especially to the whole team who cares about the quality of the results and verify the coins added by the members.
When will there be 20,000 coins? Bets are open.

Great accomplishment!!!
I think that we could reach 20.000 in the next 12 months.
If wouldn't be so hard: if just 10 of us commit to add 20 coins every week, that would be 200 coins per week, or 800 per month, for a total of 9600 in 12 months.
I tried to give my little contribution, recently.
Now, I'm trying to learn how to take pictures in order to make my contribution a little more valuable than earlier (I've done some mistakes, and I am learning to avoid those mistakes).

Thank you for your appreciation.
In the last few days I've uploaded a fair amount of coins, because I had some free time.
Unfortunately, I am still not too good in shooting good quality pictures, but I am slowly learning.
In the next days I will take some more time to photograph some coins that I have uploaded with no pictures.
By the way: I can't cut the images in a rounded shape, so if you can suggest me any free application that is easy to use, the quality of my images would be better.

hey that's wow! i am sure you will do it in coming time. If you want to cut the image in round shape you can use PHOTOSHOP, its an image editing software. I am good at using this software. If you wish i can edit your images so that you can upload them.what say!!

Well, I dont't have Photoshop, but you are very kind to offer your help, and that would be really fantastic, if you could do that, at least before I get Photoshop and learn to use it!
By the way, where can I download it? Is it a free-software?
I will be ready for some more images soon, but how can I send them to you?

Hi there! Thanks @Quetzalkoala for all the photos. btw: they're quite good, so don't you worry. only thing is: try to shoot them from the exact above, so that they're not skewed.
A hint: you might want to use alternatives to Photoshop (if you can't get your hands on a used version for sale). Here are some links (in german though) http://www.drweb.de/magazin/kostenlose-alternativen-zu-photoshop/
Gimp might a good first choice.
Another hint if you installed one of them. I often use brightness / contrast in a 2/1 ratio and then using
de-saturate in a sum of both amounts (brightness + contrast you chose) to compensate for the increasing
color values. that works very well to give coins their genuine metal look back without the radiosity you might get with background lighting (reddish shine with normal light bulbs, blueish with energy saving and halogen bulbs).
regards, Andree
edit: already working on your photos you uploaded. take a look
if you have any questions feel free to contact me

Well...
I am really amazed by this "team work spirit". That's one of the reasons why Numista is in my heart.
Thank you, Aany. Thank you Andree.
I will follow your advice, and in case I need help, I will contact you.
Best regards and... happy collecting to all!
