Note - There is a Type 1 [mule] and a Type 2 [normal] of the 1944 coin.
Type 2 [normal] shows a plain or a weak showing of the grooves in the mountain on the obverse of the coin at 3:00.
Additionally, the hair is less detailed. It is more detailed, especially around the C letter, in the mule variety.
The strong or Type 1 [mule] shows strong grooves along the mountainside (the Mayon volcano). Called vertical striations.
Also where the mountain touches the denticles in Type 1 it only covers one denticle, in Type 2 it covers three.
Additionally, the mule has a virtually straight side on the right - more of a bump on the normal coin.
There is more space between the mountain and the S [CENTAVOS] in Type 1. Type 2 they almost touch.
That is the coin [1907-1921] from which the obverse dies were used, reverse unaffected.
For the 1945 dated coins, 18,120,000 were minted in 1945, and 6,288,000 were minted in 1946
