Armenia is a country on the edge of Southeast Europe and Western Asia. It has a population of 3 millions and borders Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran. In antiquity the region had contact with the Greeks and Romans, and was the first country to adopt Christianity as a state religion in 301, but afterwards came under foreign rule until the 11th century.
