Coins from the County of Besalu

The County of Besalu occupied the region of La Garrocha, on the southern slopes of the Pyrenees, between 988 and 1111. Silver coins of three types are known: with an image of the Virgin Mary, with an image of Saint Raphael and with a cross. It also minted gold, but no gold coin has been found yet.
