The Margraviate of Brandenburg-Küstrin was an imperial principality which existed from 1535 to 1571. After the death without a male heir in 1571 of its only holder, John I, the Electorate of Brandenburg was again united under the grandson of Joachim I Nestor, Elector John II George.
