Comments

This Asamsya coin also popular with "pis Sa Ba Ta A" based on their inscriptions in Balinese script (ꦱꦧꦠꦄ). The complete words was: "Sa Ba Ta A I (Na Ma Shi Wa Ya)" seems like a mantra or some words to activate or increase spiritual power/aura [*the five secret words often called "liya ak"]. The other side inscripted "Ang" ꦄꦀ (in the bottom) and "Ah" ꦄꦴ (on the top). Ang was abreviation from "angkasa" (sky) to symbolize the residence of the gods, and Ah abv. from "anglemah / lemah" Balinese words for earth.

Many varieties because each village has their coin caster. But nowdays Balinese coins casting centralized on Kamasan village on Karangasem regency - Bali
