Fridtjof Wedel-jarlsberg Nansen (1861-1930)
Norwegian explorer, scientist and diplomat. Nansen was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922 for his work as a League of Nations High Commissioner.
He led the first crossing of Green-land by ski, and achieved great success with his Arctic expedition aboard the polarship Fram.
Nansen´s first expedtion to the North Pole.
