Pressed 2 pfennig coin from 1967-2001.
Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th Century romantic style palace created by King Ludwig II in the German state of Southern Bavaria. Based on the King's enthusiasm for the music of Richard Wagner, it was famously used as one of the scenic backdrops for the Disney film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and is thought to be the inspiration behind the Disney castle. Never fully completed, it was opened to the public shortly after the King's death. LDC63
