Havelberg is a town in the district of Stendal, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated on the Havel, and part of the town is built on an island in the centre of the river. The two parts were incorporated as a town in 1875. It has a population of 7,687. After the First World War, "Stadt" Havelberg issued notgeld in response to a severe shortage of currency.
