Coins from Lombardy

In 568, after the Lombards were able to push the Byzantines out of northern Italy, the Lombards founded their own kingdom. Starting when the kingdom was founded, Lombardy Proper struck pseudo-imperial coins in the name of Byzantine rulers. As time went on, the coins became sloppy, larger, and thinner. Their last coins were struck around 690 when they fully joined their coinage with that of the Duchy of Tuscany, moving away from the pseudo-imperial coins.
