Coins from the Lordship of Tyre

"The Lordship of Tyre (Sur in Arabic), situated in northern Palestine, was one of the smallest semi-independent domains in the Kingdom of Jerusalem. It gained its autonomy in 1243 and was ruled by the barons of Montfort until 1291, when it surrendered to the Mamluks. Tyre had been one of the most important royal mints of Jerusalem in the early 12th century, issuing mostly gold dinars. Under the barons of Montfort, it only issued several crude types of copper coins depicting buildings on the reverse."
