Comments

The Royal Australian Mint in conjunction with some Australian Newspapers released this NCLT coin as part of a 14 coin set in April 2017. The first coin came with a large folding album and the coins were issued in coincards. The series is called "Legends of the Anzacs - Medals of Honour".

To get a coin you had to obtain a token from the newspaper and redeem it at a cost of $3.00. Different tokens were published each day for 2 weeks (hence 14 coins). The coins are commemorating various service medals awarded to Australian Military personnel from the Boer War to the Afghanistan War.
Ten of the 14 coins released in the series are 20 cent coins and four of them are 25 cent coins.

This 25 Cent coin is part of the second series of "Quarters" issued by the RAM. Although not meant for circulation it is legal tender. This particular coin refers to the Distinguished Flying Cross medal which was awarded to British & Commonwealth airmen for acts of valour, courage and devotion to duty while flying on active operations during wartime.
