"Largesse money". These coins were thrown from a pedestal to the crowds after the three-day celebrations on the occasion of the visit to Salzburg of the future emperor, Joseph I. 1/9 thaler was roughly the daily wage of a laborer. 1/4 ducat was the daily wage of a court councilor.
