Comments

Token handed out to elderly poor who attended the catechism teachings on Sunday and which (or several?) could later be exchanged for a loaf of bread.
This was initiated by the 17th bishop of Antwerp (J.T.J. Wellens, 1776-1784) but ended with the French takeover of the city. It was restarted in 1823 by the Centre of Charity ("Bureel van Weldadigheid").
