Jane Austen was announced as the face of the polymer £10 note on 24th July 2013, which was first produced with a year date of 2016 and entered circulation on 14th September 2017. For further detail on this banknote, please visit the Bank of England website.
 

The banknote is either printed on Guardian™-Substrat or Safeguard®-Substrat. By looking carefully at the ink around the transparent window one can determine on which polymer substrate the note was printed. On Guardian the ink has spots, on Safeguard none.

Key Security Features:

Hologram Text changes between 'Ten' and 'Pounds' as the note is titled from side to side;
See through window Metallic image to main window is gold on the front and silver on the back.

Other Security Features:

Queen's portrait A portrait of the Queen is printed on the window with '£10 Bank of England’ printed twice around the edge;
Silver foil patch A silver foil patch contains a 3D image of the coronation crown;
Copper foil patch A booked-shaped copper foil patch contains the letters 'JA';

Colour-changing quill A coloured quill at the side of the see-through window will change from purple to orange when tilted.
Feel of polymer and raised print The note is printed on polymer, which is a thin and flexible plastic material. On the front of the note, you can feel raised print;
Print quality The printed lines and colours on the note are sharp, clear and free from smudges or blurred edges;
Ultraviolet number Under a good quality ultraviolet light, the number '10' appears in bright red and yellow on the front of the note.
