Comments

Issued by the Bank of Zaire (Banque du Zaïre), and was issued into circulation in late 1992. Although it was accepted in part of its face value, it was not accepted as legal tender in several parts of the country. One reason for this mistrust was the grammatical error in the French number of the note, which read as cinq millions zaïres instead of cinq millions de zaïres.
