Block numbers: 1-20

The "Hakkō ichiu" monument in Miyazaki literally "eight crown cords, one roof" meaning "unify the eight corners of the world" was named after a prominent slogan popularized in a speech by Prime Minister Fumimaro Konoe.  Because of the slogans historical context the monument was was renamed "Heiwa no tou" (Tower of Peace) in 1958.
