The original note (P#51) was issued from 1910 to 1917. Some of these notes (P#59) were cut in half in 1922.

The left halves were circulating as lawful money for half of the value written thereon. These halves were legal tender until 31 December 1926. From 01 January 1927 until 31 December 1931 they were accepted for exchange only by the National Bank of Greece. On 01 January 1932, the halves which were not presented for exchange became void and worthless.
The right halves were taken as payment for the compulsory loan in 1922
