In the central part of the coin is old Croatian coat of arms and underneath it, there are three spikes of wheat on both left and right side. Alongside the edge, it is written ZA NEZAVISNU DRŽAVU HRVATSKU. Also, both on the left and the right side of the word HRVATSKU, there is one leaf.

Alongside the whole edge is Croatian interlace with three-ribbon pattern. In the central part of the coin is the face value of the coin (5), word KUNA, letter U and at the bottom the year of minting (1934). There is a burning bomb inside the letter U.
