Provisional Administration of Greece

National Treasury

The debt due is Seven Hundred and Fifty Grosia, with interest at the rate of one hundred eight percent per annum, payable semi-annually, and redeemable in three years. The present bond is acceptable for the purchase of national property; it is preferable to cash; it is also acceptable for foreign exchange, according to the Law issued in Epidaurus on January 1822 No. 1.

The grosi (plural grosia) was another name for the Turkish kuruş and was later replaced by the Greek phoenix at a rate of 2½ grosia = 1 phoenix (6 phoenix = 1 Spanish dollar). Issued by the Ministry of Economy, of the Provisional Administration of Greece.
