Comments

The Central Bank of Western India was established in 1863 and the first foreign bank in Japan which took the precedence in issuing in Mexican Dollars, as most foreign trade was conducted in that currency.
Eventually it folded due to economic crisis in its home city of Bombay in 1866.
Local currency were mon, shu and ryo in form of coins, specie and hansatsu issued by various domains.

All extant notes are hand cancelled with red stamps.
