Comments

The Bavarian Central Bank, founded in 1875, is one of the few central banks in the Empire that issued banknotes alongside the Reichsbank: Badische Bank, Sächsische Bank and Württembergische Central Bank. After the end of inflation, the Reichsmark was introduced as the new currency on August 30, 1924. The Bavarian Central Bank then issued 50 and 100 Reichsmark banknotes. All sheet music was produced by Giesecke & Devrient. They show small strips of tissue paper sprinkled and printed into the paper on the right or left edge as a security feature. The notes were the last Bavarian banknotes. On January 1, 1935, the right to issue notes of the Bavarian Central Bank ended, as did the Badische Bank, Sächsische Bank and Württembergische Central Bank. The Reichsbank now finally had the privilege to issue banknotes.
