Comments

Polical statement in the form of a bank note printed by Liberal candidate Raymond Drouin suggesting to electors that the separation of Québec from the rest of Canada would be costly to them. The photo is of René Levesque, a separatist politician who wanted the independence of Québec from the rest of Canada. René Levesque was leader of the PQ party, so the denomination of the banknote is the Pécu, which sounds phonetically identical. Raymond Droin was in the Liberal Party that was in favour of Quebec remaining within Canada. The Pécu which appears to be torn was a way to warn or scare electors against the cost of separation.
