Vicente Ramón Guerrero (~Aug 1782–14 Feb 1831) was a general in the Mexican war for independence and went on to be president of the country. He fought under José María Morelos early in the war and went on to be one of its leading generals, defeating future emperor Agustín de Iturbide, and convincing him to fight against the Spanish. After independence, Guerrero became the second President of Mexico before his ouster and assassination at the hands of his vice president, Anastasio Bustamante.
