Comments

Brooks is a city in Alberta's semi-arid south, surrounded by irrigated farmland and numerous parks and preserves. A meat-packing plant employs many in the city and numerous refugees have been settled in Brooks due to this steady work. In recent years, Brooks has thus gained a reputation for diversity and multiculturalism. Because Brooks was incorporated as a city in 2005, the year of Alberta's centennial as a province, it is nicknamed "Alberta's Centennial City".
