Banknotes from the City of Penkun

Penkun is a town in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, in the smallest city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is situated 25 km east of Prenzlau, and 23 km southwest of Szczecin. After the First World War, "Stadt" Penkun issued notgeld in response to a severe shortage of currency.
