Zunzún is the smallest hummingbird in the world , also known as "pájaro mosca" (fly bird) , only 63 mm (2 1/2"). Their name comes from the sound of their wings when flying.
There are about 300 species of hummingbirds in Cuba , and though Zunzúns are not a  scarce breed , they are hard to see,because they live deep in the forest , and usually avoid contact with humans.
