Question about weight.
Thanks to certain correspondence found in the archives, we know that the 1945 strikes fall into two main categories: 3.5g and 3.8g. Using the register of issue judgments allows us to go further because, in addition to the number of coins struck, it shows the total weight of each issue. We thus have confirmation that the strikes started in 1945, on January 2, at the target weight of 3.5g.
Of all 95,398,800 struck in Paris in 1945, we already know that 11,786,400 copies were struck at a target weight of 3.5g while the others are distributed in a range of 3.75 to 3.9g
For Beaumont-Le-Roger, the aluminum strikes do not start until the end of May at a target weight of 3.8g.
For Castelsarrasin, we have no data.
The 1952 production would have been destined for Algeria.
