Hatem El Mekki, born May 16, 1918 in Jakarta and died September 23, 2003 in Carthage, is a Tunisian painter. He is considered one of the greatest painters of Tunisia and is especially associated with the drawing of Tunisian coins and banknotes as well as postage stamps which he draws 454 models from 1957 to 1995.
