R.9 Sutler Colored Infantry Civil War Token

(1861-65) Sutler Civil War Token, NL, Schenkman-S25WM, R.9, Issued by J.M. Longwell/Sutler/119/U.S.C.I. (Colored Infantry) and good for 25 cents in goods only. Listed as R.9 in David E. Schenkman's reference catalog, in Curto as 184. While all Sutler tokens are scarce in relation to other Civil War issues, those issued dealing with Colored units of the Union Army are even scarcer. This is a pleasant white metal token with a steel-gray appearance.
