Comments

1863 D. Pond, Dowagiac, MI, F-250E-1a, R.8, The 1860 Federal Census records Dennis Pond in Dowagiac, Michigan, a 34-year-old grocer who was born in New York. He relocated from New York to Cass County, Michigan, before his June 10, 1855 marriage to Marilla Cotrell. The couple had two children, W.W. (born about 1856) and S.E. (born about 1860). Little else is known about Pond, although a few family trees at Ancestry.com suggest that he died in Michigan in August 1870.

D. Pond is considered one of the rarest merchants in the Michigan store card version.
