Facing busts of Heraclius with short beard on left and the Exarch Heraclius with long beard on right, both wearing consular robes and crowns with pendilia and trefoil ornaments; between their heads, a cross.
Beaded border.

Reverse

Large I in the middle, small cross above, date split on either side.
Mint mark in exergue.

Comments

The particularity of this coin relies in the dating system used, XIIII indicating here the 4th regnal year and not the 14th as one could imagine. This numbering way was also used at Alexandretta and is thought to come from the fact Heraclius had not yet been crowned when moneyers struck the coinage, adding the X above the regnal year to differentiate these coins.
