This NCLT coin which commemorates Australia's Convict Era was issued by the RAM in the Four Coin "C" mintmark & [B ], [S], [M] Privymark set for 2018.

The coin depicted on this page is the Brisbane [B] Privymarked version.

Australia's convicts were a mixed bunch, but their stories have helped to create a contemporary Australia. One of them named Mary Wade, is actually an ancestor of Kevin Rudd, who was a former Prime Minister of Australia. These coins recognise the influence of convicts, such as Mary, whose stories have shaped Australia as a nation

This coin was available in five different Coincards during 2018 from the MYO Visitor Press on the ground floor of the RAM in Canberra with "C" mintmark for $3.00.

Issued at the Royal Sydney Easter Show with a (S) Counterstamp.

Issued at the Royal Melbourne Show with a (M) Counterstamp

The "C" mintmarked coin was also released by Australia Post in a PNC -  Number of copies unknown.
And was also released with 3 different Overprints at the Canberra Stamp Show on 16,17 & 18th March 2018. 300 Copies of each.

It was also included in the RAM Legends six coin UNC set for 2018 with a "C" Mintmark

 An NCLT Fine Silver (.999) Proof version of the coin was also released in a plush box.
