Comments

A coin from the first Discover Australia gold proof coin series, depicting Australian fauna.

The coin´s reverse depicts a Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). The world´s largest reptile, a ´saltie´ is capable of growing to between six and seven metres and weighing up to 1,000 kilograms. Distributed across tropical northern Australia, this fearsome creature inhabits fresh and salt water, and will stalk any human foolish enough to swim in its vicinity.
The reverse design includes the year-date and The Perth Mints´s traditional ´P´ mintmark.

Two pictures from a Certificate of Authenticity from the Mint of Finland (Suomen Rahapaja).
