There is represented a towel whereon there are conventionalized images of a bird (on the left) and flowers (on the right). Above and below the towel there is the semicircular inscription: УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) as well as the small National Emblem of Ukraine. At the bottom of the coin there is the inscription: 2 ГРИВНІ 2003 (2 hryvnia /2003) and the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian poet and songwriter Andrii Malyshko (02.11.1912 - 17.02.1970). Malyshko's lyrics set to music by the Ukrainian composer P.Maiboroda ("The Kyivan waltz", "Song about rushnyk", "Small path", etc.) became folk songs.
