Comments

From permafrost in the north to deserts in the south, Canada's geography is richly diverse from coast to coast, with an extraordinary variety of forests, each with its own flora and fauna.

The coastal forest covers the entire coast from British Columbia to Alaska. Covering an area of 16.5 million hectares, it extends 150 km inland to the lower seaward slopes of the Coast Mountains, covering Vancouver Island, the Haida Gwaii archipelago and the many coastal islands of British Columbia.

Mountains, steep valleys, coastal lowlands, fjords and inlets intermingle and welcome the sea air, which, like the surf, shapes them in turn. The twisted trunk of the lodgepole pine and its misshapen branches are sculpted by the wind, whose force they illustrate. In fact, the tree's Latin name is Pinus contorta, meaning "twisted pine".

Packaging
The coin is encapsulated and presented in a burgundy double-shell case featuring the Royal Canadian Mint logo. The case is accompanied by an illustrated protective box.Automatically translated
