Obverse

The obverse of the coin shows its face value decorated with an oak branch and a laurel branch, evoking the Euro sign. The motifs on the reverse side are framed with a set of lines representing France's hexagonal shape.

Reverse

The reverse of Napoleon coin shows the Germinal Franc, settled by the law of 7 germinal year XI of the Revolution (27th of march 1803). Napoleon Bonaparte was the first consul. The coin was composed by 4.5 grammes of pure silver.

Comments

Monnaie de Paris strikes coins for France since year 864. The treasures, that belongs to its heritage, are the series’ essence. It recounts France’s History on some twenty coins, going from the Roman period until today.
The series will be launched in two stages : the first wave in March 2019 and the second one in September 2019. It is composed of 18 10€ Silver coins depicting former french currencies.
Two uncolorized 50€ Silver coins, two colorized 50€ Silver coins and the 200€ Gold coin complete the series and present strong French symbols.
