Comments

"Imitation of the white mesh of Charles IV, whose issue was ordered in March 1323 (L. 247), this coin may have been made as early as then. However, the title of the copy analyzed [by Françoise Dumas-Dubourg] brings this issue closer to the second royal issue decided in July 1326 (718 ‰ instead of 878 ‰ -- L. 247a). By its type, its legends, and the different hammer-shaped design it bears, this mesh can be associated with the denarius and obolus, the manufacture of which began at the beginning of the principate of Eudes IV."
Françoise Dumas-Dubourg, Le Monnayage des ducs de Bourgogne, Louvain-la-Neuve, 1988, p.285Automatically translated
