800 years of 's-Hertogenbosch
Fragment of Pauwels van Hillegaert's painting: 'Prince Frederik Hendrik and Count Ernst Casimir at the siege of 's-Hertogenbosch' (1629).
Against a background of casemates and tent camps, Count Ernst Casimir of Nassau Dietz gives orders to a troop of soldiers as a true general.
On the horizon we see the contours of 's-Hertogenbosch with the dominating cathedral.
The plumes of smoke indicate that the city is under attack.
