Napoleon I of France died in exile on the remote British island of St. Helena in 1821. Napoleon III purchased from the British Longwood House, Napoleons final residence and the Valley of the Tomb, where he was initially buried. In 1858 they became French territories under the name of "French Domains of Saint-Helena". In 1959 a small pavilion named Briars, where Napoleon stayed when he first arrived on the island, was donated to France and added to the territory. The properties are administered by the French Foreign Ministry. This unofficial 2019 20 Euros coin depicts a young image of Marianne, the allegorical symbol of the French Republic is on the obverse. The reverse depicts Napoleon and the dates "1821 2021". The six-sided 39mm silver-plated Proof coin has a mintage of only 150 pieces.
