Stuart Leslie Devlin, AO, CMG is a significant contemporary gold and silversmith. Australian-born, he has designed coins for countries around the world, and became especially well known as London-based designer of gold and silver collector's items in the 1970s and 80s.

This Gold Plated Copper-nickel NCLT Coin was issued by the RAM as part of a Five-Coin Set to commemorate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Dodecagon 50 cent Coin. The five coins in the set each display a different effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as used on the 50 cent coin since it was introduced in 1969 as well as including the new Jody Clark Sixth Effigy being introduced on Australian coins in 2019.

         

This particular coin in the set is Gold Plated and displays the 2nd effigy by Arnold Machin which was used on all 50 cent coins issued between 1966 and 1984.
