This coin has been minted in Zand dynasty era and in their standard coinage system by Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar, demonstrating his obedience on Mazandaran.  After captured all of territories under Zand reign, foundation of Qajar Dynasty, and accession in Tehran, Agha Mohammad Khan changed the currency of gold coins from Mohur to Tuman.
