Comments

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road was opened in 1935; it was projected to be the main route to cross the Alps from Carinthia to the Salzburg region.
When, in 1975, was opened the motorway Villach-Salzburg, the Grossglockner Road became almost exclusively a touristic attraction.
It is open from May to late October.
