Salzburg mint
First gold coin of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, a loose imitation of the Florentine Florin.
The reign of Pilgrim II has been subject to a diversity of opinions concerning his effectiveness at governance. Beyond doubt, however, is that he somehow managed to keep Salzburg relatively neutral through the first half of the Great Western Schism of 1378-1417 (outliving both of the initial antagonists) while increasing the territorial holdings and wealth of his office.
