Within an inner ring of Orange, White, Red and Blue a depiction of Hudson Fysh & Paul McGuinness. Outside the inner ring depictions of 3 small aircraft flying around the ring. To the lower right in a small circle the original shed where Queensland and Northern Territory Ariel Services began. The names of the two men at the top of the ring and the word QANTAS below.

Released jointly by the RAM and QANTAS in a Box Set of eleven coins is this NCLT Aluminium-bronze coloured $1 coin that commemorates 100 Years of the Australian Airline QANTAS. Nine other coins in the set are also the usual Aluminium-bronze however one of the coins is larger than normal and is made from Copper. The coin was issued in a coincard inside a folding red box.
Qantas co-founders Hudson Fysh from Tasmania and Paul McGinness from Victoria both served at Gallipoli as
light horsemen in 1915. They ﬁrst met after joining the Australian Flying Corps in Palestine where they teamed up as a Bristol Fighter crew. Each received the Distnguished Flying Cross.
In 1919, they surveyed on air route across northen Australia in a Model T Ford With support frum grazier Fergus McMaster, Queensland and Northern
Territory Aerial Services Ltd was established in November 1920 at Winton and later atf Longreach. Fysh led Qantas into the jet age, as its Managing Director and Chairman were period of 46 years. Knighted in 1954, Sir Hudson Fysh authored an acclaimed three-volume history of Qantas.
