In 2018 the RAM released this NCLT Fine Silver (.999) Proof Coin to Commemorate Australias Convict Era. The coin was issued in limited numbers in a capsule held within a plush black box with numbered certificate. It has a "C" Mintmark.
Australia's convicts were a mixed bunch, but their stories have helped to create a contemporary Australia. One of them named Mary Wade, is actually an ancestor of Kevin Rudd, who was a former Prime Minister of Australia. These coins recognise the influence of convicts, such as Mary, whose stories have shaped Australia as a nation.
The RAM also released an Aluminium-bronze version of this coin in a number of ways :-
