The coin was withdrawn from circulation in 1939 and devalued by using the same technology as in the case of Romania 50 Lei #55 and 100 Lei #54 coins. The identical technology employed prompts that this occurred at VDM (Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke AG) in Altona, Germany.
